LEANDRO MERCADO | WORLD SUPERBIKE

Having started his racing career in the national competitions, in 2008 Mercado goes to race in the United States, finishing in third place in the Red Bull US Rookies Cup. The following year he took part with a Kawasaki ZX-6R team Attack Performance in tenders Daytona SportBike and SuperSport classes, finishing in third place and winning the national title in the final race at Daytona. In 2010 Mercado raced in the Italian Championship in the Stock 600 class, reaching the seventh place.
In 2011 he was hired by Team Pedercini to race in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup with a Kawasaki ZX-10R. In 2012, remains in the same team to participate in the World Superbike Championship, but he was forced to skip the first round at Phillip Island because of an injury. He continues to race with team Pedercini also in 2013 in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup, obtaining the fourth position in the standings with a win and four podium finishes.
